Missing TLDs

Registrars = registrars holding >0 domains in ICANN’s May 2026 report, excluding the Totals row, ICANN SLA-monitoring accounts, registry-operator pseudo-accounts and corporate brand-protection registrars. Excluded TLDs show no retail distribution — closed, single-registrant or never launched — on top of the 367 Spec 13 .brands already dropped. Eligibility notes are diligence flags, not verified current registry policy. Technical operator is the Technical Contact on each TLD’s IANA delegation record — the registry service provider that runs the platform. Registry operator is the Sponsoring/Administrative organisation that holds the ICANN contract. They are frequently different: .bot is Amazon’s TLD, but Nominet runs it. One technical operator is one EPP integration; each registry operator is potentially its own RRA and its own deposit. The Registries count in the backend view is therefore the number of commercial relationships hiding behind a single build. That varies by platform and has to be asked, not assumed: CentralNic bills centrally, one account across all 56 of its TLDs here. Tucows runs 33 registrable TLDs on one platform but across 15 registry operators, and whether funds pool is still open. Wholesale is our own registration / renewal cost, from the extensions table for anything we sell and from CentralNic’s price list for the rest. The We sell tab is the live contents of that table — 351 extensions including ccTLDs and CentralNic’s second-level zones, which sit outside the gTLD arithmetic above. Registered counts and registrar counts were only gathered for the gap, so carried rows show n/a there; their in-zone figures are live. Radix’s record names Tucows, matching the TRS-issued client certificate on its EPP endpoint. Domains is registered names from ICANN’s May 2026 registry reports; In zone is names actually present in the zone file today (domains-monitor.com, 7 Sep 2026). Zone counts are four months fresher and cover ccTLDs, but exclude registered-yet-undelegated names, so they run lower — a low in-zone/registered ratio suggests parked or speculative inventory. n/a means the zone is not tracked there (all IDN).
